About Colonial Bronze
In 1927, Swiss Immigrant brothers, Maximillian F. Ruefli and Joseph A. Ruefli, opened their first shop on Jerome Avenue in the Bronx. In 1930, Colonial moved to Torrington, Connecticut, where they now manufacture all their products, with the exception of the Tradition collection which is made overseas, and finished in their factory. Each item is inspected thoroughly to insure that it meets their demanding quality standards. To provide you with the finest quality hardware available anywhere and to insure lasting beauty, Colonial features the exclusive "Finishes for Life - Tarnish Free Guaranteed" clear-coat.
